AGAINST HUNGER TURKEY GIVEAWAY AT PROGRESS PLAZA and SHOPRITE
SOUTH PHILADELPHIA |

PHILADELPHIA,
PA - November 17, 2006 — Sixers’ star Willie Green
knows the meaning of Thanksgiving. In association with his Ballin’
Against Hunger Initiative and 100.3 the Beat radio, the basketball
star is kicking off a Thanksgiving Turkey give-a-away on November
20th at 3:30pm at the ShopRite in South Philadelphia and then
to North Philadelphia - Progress Plaza on Broad street near Temple
University at 4:30pm. Hundreds of turkeys will be given away to
Philadelphian’s in need. For many underprivileged residents
in Philadelphia, this yearly event ensures a festive Thanksgiving
for them and their families. This
exciting event will consist of the radio station 100.3 the Beat’s
radio personality Colby Colb and the members of the Beat Street
team coming out and giving away additional prizes and promotional
items from the radio station to add to the festivities. Willie
Green is proud to be a part of such a worthy cause and is delighted
along with other organizations that assisted with the distribution.
“Many of us take it for granted that every family has a
turkey dinner on Thanksgiving,” said Willie Green, “but
many families go without unless people take the time and effort
to give to those who really need it. I intend to continue to serve
the community that shows me so much love throughout the year.
It’s a blessing to be able to join forces with 100.3 the
Beat for this event. “
