ORLANDO'S DWIGHT HOWARD NAMED EASTERN CONFERENCE PLAYER OF THE MONTH

The Orlando Magic's Dwight Howard today was named Eastern Conference Player of the Month for games played from the start of the season (Oct. 30) through November.

Howard averaged 23.8 points on .618 shooting and a league-high 15.0 rebounds while leading the Magic to a 14-4 record. The 14 victories tied for the league high for wins in November with San Antonio. Howard recorded an NBA-best 15 double-doubles and scored 30 or more points six times, including a career-high 39 in a 110-94 win on Nov. 28 in Seattle.

  • Nov. 14 @ Cleveland: Had 35 points, 16 rebounds and four blocks in a 117-116 overtime victory.
  • Nov. 21 @ San Antonio: Recorded a 34-point, 16-board double-double in a 128-110 road loss.
  • Nov. 23 vs. Charlotte: Posted 34 points, 17 rebounds, four blocks and three steals in a 105-93 victory.
  • Nov. 30 @ Phoenix: Scored 30 points and grabbed 23 boards – his eighth career 20-point/20-rebound game – in a 110-106 loss.
