Mary Ford has served as the Director of Public Relations for Goodwin Sports Management (GSM) since 2003. She has 18 years of extensive public relations/ marketing experience in the professional sports, entertainment and network television industries.
Prior to joining GSM, Mary worked for the Sacramento Kings, Seattle SuperSonics, Planet Hollywood, Inc. and Fox Sports Net. She spent three years with the Kings media relations department before relocating to Seattle, WA, to join the Sonics organization as Broadcast Coordinator. During her time with Planet Hollywood, Mary managed celebrity appearances and press functions for all West Coast restaurant locations. As the Media Relations Director for Fox Sports Net, she orchestrated national exposure for the regional network highlighting the local professional teams and collegiate partners.
Mary serves as the athlete publicist for GSM clients. She manages and facilitates all media requests (print, broadcast, online). Mary helps develop the clients’ image branding through media exposure, marketing initiatives and social media. She works closely with the NBA & WNBA league offices as well as the clients’ NBA/WNBA local team. She serves as a liaison with GSM’s corporate partners to schedule and fulfill client endorsement obligations. While handling community and charity requests for the company, Mary also assists GSM clients with their personal foundations and outreach endeavors. She creates and distributes all press releases, advisories and statements for GSM as well as its clients.
Mary graduated from California State University at Sacramento with a degree in Communications with a focus in Public Relations and Journalism in 1994.
